Math Curriculum Used in the Classroom:
In the classroom we use four different Math curriculums:
-Every Day Math Counts - this program is used during our Calendar time, twice a day. It teaches the students about the months of the year, days of the week, calendars, counting, patterns, etc. Also, songs for sensory and social interaction have been incorporated as well. In addition, students learn their names, colors, shapes, numbers, and weather through matching and identification. Lastly, students identify whether their gender.
-Number Worlds - this curriculum is used in small group instruction, along with Number Worlds. It teaches the students a variety of concepts such as counting, one to one correspondence, number sense, etc.
-Me + Math = Magic - this program is used in small group instruction, along with Number Worlds. It teaches the students a multitude of concepts, such as counting, number, shapes, colors, animals, patterns, same/different, etc. through the use of literature. We read a book for a whole month and do several different activity to correlate with the book and concepts. Our first book is called Animal Zoo! It teaches about numbers, shapes, and animals!
-Counting Objects 1-10 - this curriculum is used in small group instruction in the numbers group. It teaches the students how to count objects with one to one correspondence up to 10.
